On the afternoon of November 19th 2010, Blue Filter became a fully registered publisher. That sounds rather grander than in fact it is. In short, all you have to do is register with Nielsen – the body in the UK charged with administering the provision of ISBNs – and pay a small fee for the priviledge and the allocation of your first tranche of numbers.
Frankly, calling yourself a “publisher”, and obtaining the administrative tools to be one, is the easy part. To have any degree of success you have to market your output, and that is where the real work begins.
